Myself and 5 friends are travelling to paris in march, we want to stay in a decent hotel that is close to paris nightlife, need advice as don't want to end up in a dodgy area of Paris

Bastille! Or the 9eme is a good central aree. Bastille has a vibrant nightlife and I'd probably recommend that to you above the other neighborhoods. The 18th is cool, but a bit racier.

Hi,

Latin quarter is the most suitable place to stay. It is close to the shops and metro stops are convenient as well.

Paris is too big to be able to walk from the one sight to the other, so wherever you stay you will have to take the Metro several times anyhow.

If you know where in Paris you want to spend most of your time you can chose your hotel based on that, but if you want to see all the highlight, anywhere in the center of town will be as good as any other.

And while I do not want to stay outside the center of town, many people think the cheaper costs are worth the extra travel.
