The Chinese Tsinghua University and the display producer Visionox announced about the launching of the first Chinese factory of OLED-displays (organic light-emitting diode) production. The factory building began in 2005.
The factory's basic production are average OLED-displays, destined for mobile devices (cell phones, GPS). They spent $73 million for establishing it.
It is planned to produce about 12 million displays/year.
Remember, this news is somehow an unexpected one, that's because up to the moment, only Japan and South Korea produced similar displays (not even Europe or USA).
OLED displays are better than any other displays due to the fact they don't need special backlight, because their pixels emit light independently.
I was wondering what of quality these displays are going to be like? Will it be the same cheap and unreliable products?
