The UEFA president, Michelle Platini, has roughly criticized a row of deals, which took place in the last years within the English premier-league. The matter regards the sale of clubs to foreign investors, particularly, to the Arab ones. Platini claimed, he'll try to limit the possibility of concluding such deals. He said that the situation when a football club from Liverpool or Manchester is bought by a Qatar businessman, while there are no Qatar players in that club is not totally normal. "I think the Qatar citizens must invest money in Qatar".
Currently, 9 from 20 Premier League clubs are bought by foreigners. The current owner is a Thai businessman.

Platini is somehow right. But at the same time he should be careful not to make others consider it a discrimination of Qatar people. Qatar magnats play important role in world sports by their sponsorship actions.

Yes, it's just that the European football (soccer) will lose its tendency of being European if clubs are continiously bought by Arab magnats. Sponsorship from their part is good, but, to a certain extent.

Owners of these semi/Arab-semi-European clubs seem not to be very mcuh interested in thei role of sport within the society. They want profit, that's all!

only the best football clubs can bring profit. Their names (brands) are very expensive. Don't forget that a professional football club in England requires, on average, about $500 million yearly.

Arab shaiks are very powerfull.
they will earn a lot of money by spending a lot on players.
