I would like visit paris for a couple of days say 5 days or one week..however, i don't know the procedure on how to obtain a visit visa to paris.

You should go to the French embassy in Sheikh Zayed road, near Fairmont hotel and simply ask for all the papers you need to have when you apply for the visa, they will ask you for a ticket copy or sure ticket reservation, a hotel reservation, and a bank statement, also insurance for Europe during your stay, pictures, and you need to fill an application.

Anyway , just go there and they will give you all the details, once you prepare all the papers they will give you an appointment to see them, and visa will finish in 3 weeks
