Greetings from the USA

We will be in Paris for 10 days in September, and we
are starting to look around for the best way to get from
and back to the airport. (Charles de Gaulle)

We will have 4 pieces of luggage, 2 large and 2 carry on ....

Any suggestions on the reliability of any of the Paris shuttle
companies. We are unsure whether we should use a shuttle
or get a taxi.

We will be staying in the 9th disctrict (75009)

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I want to share my experience with you, i was in Paris 3 times,
charles de gaulle is a really big airport - so type charles de gaulle plan in google , or charles de gaulle airport official site in order to visit official site.

I think it would be simpler to take taxi in your case ( long flight, much luggage). Who is second person? Your wife or child - take a taxi without doubt.
It costs you 55-85 EUR

if your budget is limited, you could use public transport:
1) RER ( suburban train) + metro ~10 EUR per person

it's cheaper but you should plan you route more detailed, find nearest metro station to your hotel location, read how to use metro in paris ( i think it would be usefull in any case) type paris metro map in google. find interchange station you should use.

All 3 times i used RER and never taxi, but i and my wife were a students and we traveled with only one suitcase.

Since you have so much luggage, i would just take a cab;)

Try to use private travel services for moving from one place to another. and in paris here are many travel companies who offers you some good services
