So, here's your answer. People stay with people who treat them badly because they don't treat themselves well enough to leave. If that makes any sense.

Example, if a girl doesn't think she is pretty enough, or smart enough, she is going to gravitate to a guy who doesn't think she is pretty or smart either. Then they will have something in common. But then the guy gets bored, and leaves, and the girl, who thinks she isn't good enough to get anyone else, follows.
