We are immediately looking for a videographer/field producer with their own 3CCD camera (not HD) and sound equipment to shoot high production value b-roll and interviews of people concerning the disappearance of honey bees and bumble bees world wide. Our documentary film is "Silent Summer" and a synopsis and field producer guide can be reviewed and downloaded at our new website at www.isojo.org/silent_summer. The focus of the film is Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), the prevalence of it, the circumstances surrounding it, the possible causes of it, and the implications of it to the world at large. Footage must be shot on a 3CCD miniDV camera on miniDV tapes (Fuji MiniDVs are highly preferred). A list of possible interviewees are entomologists, beekeepers, honey producers, naturalists, biologists, professors and any person who feels they have a stake on the loss of bees from the planet.

We are doing the "indie" production similar to Robert Greenwald's volunteer field productions with Brave New Films in LA. The release is schedule in 2008. We are looking for volunteer field producers who have a commitment to the "issue" of vanishing bees and helping a documentary be produced on that subject. Field producers will only receive a field producer credit in the documentary, if your footage is used in the film. So "Silent Summer", taking its inspiration from Rachel Carson's Silent Spring book penned years ago is formatted in that fashion. It's micro-low budget at this point, independent, with high production values being the end product.
