Although there are many upscale Chinese restaurants in Paris, your friend couldn't do better than to go to Chinatown in the 13th. The two main drags are Avenue de Choisy and Avenue d'Ivry, both of which are filled with eating establishments. (The area is a quick metro ride from central Paris on the number 7.)

If your friend doesn't want to go to Chinatown, on our trips to Paris my beloved and I always have one or two dinners at Le Petite Dragon on rue St. Paul in the Marais. It's just a modest neighborhood place, but it nevertheless has terrific food.
