Hello Paris,

Just joined this forum. Planning to relocate to France very soon. 20 years in America is enough I think.

So any tips or advice will be welcome. Of a job offer for this computer programmer/bartender/painter (decorator) would be even more welcome....lol.

I probably will just start out by renting a room if I stay in Paris. This will of course be cheaper and a good way I think to work on my French. So any advice on this regarding areas and cost would be appreciated.

I have recently discovered a nice group that organizes cultural events in Paris. I have been to several events, including a weekend trip and I have had some really positive experience. The people I have met are mostly expatriates and exchange students and overall attitude is positive and relaxed.

I thought I would share it with people on this forum. This group is located on meet up website and called "travel and excursion in France and Europe"

They have upcoming tour to Champagne, might be a nice opportunity to meet some new people.
