The book describes only the difference in temper and psychology of these two nations. It is not a tourist guide but if you're interested in one of these nations it can draw a general picture for you.

French people are similar to Americans in the matter of democracy. Both countries USA and France promote total freedom for their citizens. I know that without reading that book, sorry.
