'payant' Parking

'payant' parking Posted 31 March 2012
Hi there everyone,
This is my first post so apologies if this question has been answered already!
My question is about car parking in zones marked 'payant'. I used to live in Paris in 2002 and back then I parked my car with english plates in these zones without paying. I would get tickets but nothing ever came of them and I was never towed. I'm coming back to Paris for a week (in anticipation of a longer stay) in July and I'll be staying in Barbès driving a car with English plates. The only option parking-wise is a 'payant' zone, so my question is, have things changed? IE, can I still not pay the on street parking and get away with it?

If anyone has any advice on this I'd really appreciate it as I don't have access to a garage and the on-street parking charges will work out very expensive!
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Hello,

I know that there are some kind of prepaid cards to park your car in the streets of Paris, you can take a look to them in the Mairie de Paris site.

Just google this:

Moneo, payer le stationnement plus facile

La Paris Carte, rapide et sans risque

Sorry I cant send you the direct link as I cannot post URLs as my account is new.
