How important is business ethics and social responsibility to a company’s success?

To me, business ethics is most important. Without that, whats the difference between a legitemate company and a small time crook?

Business growth is important but not at the cost of ones integrity. At the end of the day, you can only enjoy the success you have had only if you know you acheived it with a lot of hard work and being true to yourself.
