Lens Armstrong - back to cycling sport on Paris forum

The International Cycling Union allowed the American Lens Armstrong to take part into the Tour Down Under, which will take place in Australia from 20 to 25 January. Thereby, Armstrong was allowed to break the anti-doping rules, according to which, a sportsman had the right to participate in the tour only beginning with February 1, 2009. That's because, as the ICU rules mention, a retired racing cyclist can return to this sport, only if he notifies 6 months in advance to the competition, not less. Do you think that's an abuse? Or maybe his performances were so high, that the ICU considered it a reasonable exception. On the other hand, other sportsmen will now try to pretend for the same rights.

Rules are made for helping sportsmen, not bringing them down. So if something seems to be wrong about a rule, it definitely should be changed.

You are right Maxumus, but if so, all the sportsmen will pretend to be an exception, and no discipline wiill be in sports
