After analyzing 3G iPhone IMEI, researchers concluded that Apple sold 10 million smartphones, though it planned to achieve this number of sales by the end of this year. At the moment, the new 3G iPhone (16 GB) is sold in over 50 world countries. By the end of 2008, it will appear be sold in more than 70 countries. IMEI analyses showed that currently there are 9,190,680 iphone users. These data was obtained thanks to one of the Mac Observer website, where iphone users asked to post their IMEI. IMEI is a unique number held by any cell phone which contains production details about the phone.
