Retired U.S. couple looking for quiet, convenient apartment in Paris for six months. Would appreciate all advice, especially how to avoid legal or landlord problems, how to avoid scams, etc. Currently budgeting $1500 U.S. per month for rent, utilities, apartment leasing fees, misc., etc. Is that reasonable ? Just looking for a decent place, with metro access, in a nice neighborhood, with bakery, stores, cafes, etc. Any advice appreciated. Most of the agencies want us to sign a lease without seeing the apartment, only pictures. Not sure I want to do that.

I wondered if you are still looking for an apartment? I have a furnished 2 bedroom appartment in the 7th arrondissement on offer for about that period because my family and me will be relocated to Johannesburg for 6 months.
